Brunswick Defender Hybrid Bowling Ball Bowling Ball Features:
The new Defender Hybrid is the first ball introduced using HK22. You’ll first notice the shelf appeal and colors of the Defender Hybrid and how they pop; this is due to the new translucent base material. The new base material HK22 creates a noticeable and exciting advancement in shiny ball hook potential, creating more teeth in the mid-lane for a shiny ball and a stronger, more responsive breakpoint. The A.C.T. 3.0 additive package was added to the HK22 base to achieve optimal ball reaction. The Overall result is more backend and a shiny ball that will handle more volume and give the bowler more area at the breakpoint.

Defender hybrid – Very vibrant with amazing shelf appeal. This ball is a great compliment to the original Defender solid. Comparing the 2, the Hybrid is a good 2-3 feet longer with a good 5 to 6 boards more backend. When the solid starts the lose energy, the hybrid would be the ball to goto next.

First off, this new HK22 coverstock has an almost translucent look to it giving The Defender Hybrid great shelf and lane appeal. When I first threw this ball, I compared it against my Paragon Hybrid and the eye test told me these were the same ball. I talked to my guy back at the factory and he said the Defender will have a faster response to friction and the more friction the bigger the shape difference. Fast forward to Thursday night league. Shot 250 game 1 with the Paragon Hybrid, late in game 2 I started to leave corner pins for 220. Started game 3 with a couple more corners, switch to the Defender Hybrid which was now finishing stronger and promptly threw the next 7 and all were 10 in the pit. It was very continuess from the deeper angle. Good change, good ball.

After one shot I knew I was going to love this ball. It does exactly what a hybrid should: good combo of length and backend motion, but not crazy skid/flip. That means no oscillation between 4-9’s and blower 7-10’s. I am loving the new HK22 shell. Still get hook in the oil without burning up in the dry.

The Defender Hybrid with the new HK22 additive has hit the lanes and turning heads with it’s shelf appeal and it’s responsiveness down lane.
Straight out of the box and to the lanes, the first thing I noticed was it’s shape at the breakpoint. Then it was the continuation through the pins. A combination that I have not seen in a ball.
This one checks all the boxes and has found a home in my bag!

The Defender Hybrid is something I haven’t had in a hybrid ball. The Defender Hybrid gives me that bigger ball but still has the pop through the pins. For me, this ball is a ball up from my DV8 Collision and different from my Paragon Hybrid in that it has traction in oil where the Collision and Paragon are still too clean. This ball will fit perfectly in your arsenal between your favorite solid and pearl balls!

The Game has Changed…..the new Defender Hybrid with HK22
I have thrown many different balls in my career, but I have never thrown something quite like this. The New Brunswick Defender Hybrid is the newest performance ball with the first ever HK22 coverstock. HyperKinetic22 (HK22) reactive urethane coverstock formula has been added to the already successful and reliable ACT 3.0 Hybrid additive creating optimal ball reaction resulting in increased backend on higher oil volume. The Defender Hybrid has a much faster response to friction than any other ball I have thrown in my career. Additionally, The Defender Hybrid has a VERY unique quality, as I have seen that I do not leave as many ten pins as I have in the past with other bowling balls. The Defender Hybrid just finishes much stronger than any ball in my arsenal. The more friction this ball hits, the quicker the response and movement through the pins. The Defender Hybrid is simply AMAZING. If you have not seen this ball in action, please go by your local pro shop, see when a demo day is coming to your local bowling center and give one a try. You will NOT be disappointed!

The first Big B ball and the first ball I have thrown using the new HK22 cover formula from Brunswick. The shelf appeal of this ball with the Pink and Purple color combo is what led me to drilling this ball first and foremost. I can say drilling this ball has been extremely important for me and gives me exactly what I was wanting to add to my arsenal. I personally am very picky with shiny/polish asymmetrical bowling balls as I don’t like them to be to skid flipy as being a higher speed/rev guy they usually ended up missing the break point on even the smallest errors. The HK22 cover formula on this ball allows the ball to change direction at a high level but the Porrtal X core allows the ball to be more forward than sideways when it leaves the pattern. The Defender Hybrid is the first shiny/polished ball that leaves my arsenal and is the ball I use before I go to any symmetrical shiny/polish ball.

HK22 need I say more?
Anytime, i repeat Anytime, I can get a Hybrid in my hands, its normally a good night for me! This thing reads the mid hard just like the solid, but continuation is key. I can open and play any angle I want with the Hybrid, and let it crush the pin deck! I have taken this ball to multiple houses, on multiple patterns, and I can say it’s one of the best Brunswick has put out lately! Definitely 10 out of 10!

I can’t say enough good things about this ball. The new Hyper Kinetic HK22 cover stock technology is just plain amazing. This ball has the most reaction and response to friction that I have in a hybrid or pearl. It has good length being a hybrid and seems to be very forgiving to misses. It has enough hold if you are inside target a bit and enough traction to still go through the pins well in the oil and if you are outside target a little it has more than enough change of direction to easily make it all the way back. I went skid flip layout 70 x 3.75 x 20 on mine.

Looking for skid flip? We got it right here!! First with the new HK22 cover and its amazing. Shiny that digs in oil and unleashes when it sees friction. Missed shots in will still pick up and strike. Big motor/big motion. This one rips coming off the spot. Brunswick brings you a hockey stick motion bowlers love. Great ball down from the Defender when you need a little more distance.

The Brunswick Defender Hybrid is the first Brunswick ball with the HK22 cover and this ball does not disappoint. I know its cliché to say, but this ball is a MUST in your bag! The response this ball provides off friction is unbelievable! I have yet to touch the cover on this ball its a staple in my bag! To get a different ball in my bag, I drilled this between the bridge (below) and I am still amazed on the performance and response! This ball travels everywhere with me!

The Defender Hybrid is a cleaner stronger reacting type of ball reaction. This is the first of the HK22 balls that capitalizes on a cover material that is more angular than previous formulations. That is very evident when comparing this to the original Defender. This ball much longer and much more angular. This ball for me was pretty strong on our house shot and rolls much better with some added polish. Overall, I can see this one being a versatile quicker response ball for medium to medium heavy conditions. If you like strong backend performance, check out the Defender Hybrid.
