Brunswick Melee Jab Carbon Bowling Ball Features:
Brunswick knows and understands tradition better than any brand in bowling, and it’s become a tradition over the last few bowling seasons to release a new Melee Jab. The Melee Jab Carbon uses a cover new to the line, Activator Xtreme Hook Pearl, most recently found on the Zenith line of balls, to update the line and stay on the cutting edge of shiny ball performance. Brunswick fans turn to this line of balls for performance on medium conditions when a strong but predictable shiny ball is needed, and the Melee Jab Carbon will soon be a favorite for those players.

The Brunswick Melee Jab Carbon has looked awesome for me so far. My PSO put holes in it Saturday and I won a tournament with it Sunday averaging 246 for the 6 games I used it. That Melee core is a proven staple in the line. It has proven itself over and over and over with all the Melee’s, Knockouts, The Uppercut and others. This particular one is using a new formulation of pearl coverstock called A.X.H. For me it is nice and clean with easy length and hits really hard. I really like this ball to be in the arsenal.

Brunswick has done it again with the Melee Jab Carbon bowling ball. The new cover on this will you will see the strongest motion on the backend compared to the other Melee Jabs. I drilled mine 75×4.25.35. That and Layout I get a really clean ball thu the front of the lane and a very strong motion on the back.

COMMENTS
The Melee Jab Carbon is a great long and strong medium condition type ball. This one brings back memories of the original Melee Jab and is great in any situations where friction is present. This one is currently may favorite ball in my bag. The Jab Carbon plays well from multiple angles and I have successfully bowled 3 games of league with 10 people on a pair with it. Amongst recent balls, this one is as responsive as the Midnight Blue Jab with the length of the Blood Red Jab. In my opinion this is the most angular ball currently in the line. If your looking for long and strong, hit em’ with the Melee Jab Carbon.

Melee Jab fans are going to love this one. The carbon Is a great universal piece to add to the bag. Light to medium oil conditions will get jabbed by the carbon. Cover is very versatile it you want to add a little teeth to it. Strong motion with great continuation. Good ball down from the Knockout Black Blue when you need a little more distance. Great solid symmetrical to add to the bag for league and tournament conditions.

Melee Carbon – this ball is a must have in anyone’s arsenal. This a a great ball for those medium conditions or later in league or tournaments when the conditions are breaking down. Comparing the Carbon to the other Melee Jabs, I’d say the Carbon is a touch smoother and more controllable.

Clean and powerful. Those are the words I would use to describe this one. Brunswick keeps making the Melee series because they are just that good. This Carbon may be one of the best too. It’s very smooth and clean through the front, and the hitting power is one of the best I’ve seen in a midrange ball. I have a 4.5 inch pin on mine with hearing how clean the cover was beforehand. I’ve also thrown one with a 5.5 inch pin and it definitely had a bit more length. This is my second favorite Melee compared to the Jab SE.

The Melee Jab Carbon is a cleaner and more angular version of the Midnight Blue Melee Jab. I use it when I need a little more length and pop through the pins than the Midnight Blue Melee Jab. The Melee Jab Carbon is a must have for tournament bowlers or if you bowl a second shift league.

Theres not too much more that can be said about the Melee Jab and its predecessors. They just give you the ability to cross a lot of boards on some chewed up lanes and get it to hit like a truck. The Melee Jab Carbon is a little bit different to the Midnight Blue that its a touch earlier which is going to make it a bit more versatile than the Midnight Blue. I can take my Carbon out a bit earlier in my league session and it lasts a lot longer on the lanes before I need to switch to something weaker

Now we all know how good the melee line has been for Brunswick. The melee jab was my absolute favorite one until this carbon came out. It’s the perfect benchmark ball. For me it’s cleaner than the blood Red and midnight jabs and have more kick down lane. Its versatility is just amazing. If youre looking for a predictable benchmark ball that can be used at multiple angles then get this one. It takes a lot for me to say a ball is better than the OG purple jab but this one is it.

For y’all who have or is considering Brunswick Defender Hybrid, strong advice: trade it, sell it, donate it or use it as a second game transition ball. I have the same benchmark layouts on Defender Hybrid and Melee Jab Midnight drilled on this Melee Jab Carbon. Low rev, 14.5-15.5 MPH, pin up to the righty “wedding” ring finger, and middle of the road average Joe bowler.
Starting off practice to take a feel before first game started, I picked up the Defender Hybrid. One of my teammates was watching and noticed the Defender Hybrid wasn’t reading the lane. He suggested me to pick up the freshly drilled Melee Jab Carbon and try it out. I was hesitant but I took his advice. Rolled it off, strike. OK, switched back to Defender Hybrid–left a ringing 7. My other teammate agreed with my first teammate’s observation and prompted me to put the Defender Hybrid down and stick with the Melee Jab Carbon. First game with very long heavy oiled lane, 212. Impressive! 2nd game, it started to become too strong which I had to pick up the Defender Hybrid in the 4th frame. Finished off 197. Closed the game with 176 with Melee Jab Midnight (my trusty ball to close). All of the scores way past my middle of the road average–impressive. Tried it again the next league play, it does it again–BOUGHT AND SOLD! This Melee Jab Carbon made a believer out of me–now it’s my go to first game ball from now on.
Mentioned this to my professional driller. His answer? Don’t assume the rating of the ball by Brunswick or its professional bowlers they sponsor which I am also sponsored. Do you had to find out the hard way by bowling it.
So, this being mentioned–get the Melee Jab Carbon like it’s no one’s business, drill it up and bowl them already if you haven’t gotten your hands on them. It’s that versatile and fun to see how other bowlers’ reactions. Let’s go!
