Columbia 300 Speed Bowling Ball Features:
You will definitely feel the need for Speed! Columbia 300 brings you the new Speed. They started with the successful Power Torq and set out to create a solid asymmetric motion, perfect for a first ball out of the bag or when symmetric balls like the Power Torq are too clean. The strength of the Speed comes from the all-new cover and core combination. The new Formula 1 cover uses chemistry similar to the popular ERT formulation, but Columbia 300’s chemists used a new additive that promotes stronger adhesion throughout the entire lane. They combined the Formula 1 cover with the new super aggressive Shifter core to ensure significantly more overall hook than the Power Torq.

The C300 Speed is a strong hybrid and asymmetrical bowling ball designed for heavier oil. My Speed is drilled 45 x 5 x 30. The ball reads the mid-lane and is very strong and continuous on the backend. My Speed is stronger than my Power Torq which has a similar layout in it and provides me with more overall hook. The Speed is impressive and I anticipated this ball being in my bag for quite some time. Visit your local Pro Shop Operator and inquire about the C300 Speed ASAP!!!

The new Speed by Columbia 300 has a hybrid cover with a shifter core. This big ball is a great 1st out of your bag when your facing high volume on the lanes. When comparing to another C300 great it would be the power Torq when the Torq is a little to clean you can ball up to the Speed and keep on striking. It’s a great 1-2 combo. Maverick said it best I feel the need the need for Speed. Columbia has outdone themselves with the speed. This is going to be your strong hybrid asymmetrical ball. Because it’s a hybrid it also responds very well to surface change you can add lots of surface or take lots of surface away. Is Ball really loves the oil.
I drilled mine 45×4.25×35. I use mine as a first ball out of the bag on heavy oil or longer patterns. I like it the most because it’s easy to get a good read of the pattern making it easy to make adjustments.

The Columbia 300 Speed is a little different shape than what I usually like to see. It picks up pretty early which usually mean the ball is using its energy early and doesn’t save much left for the pins. It’s not really the case for this one. The Speed, although early and smooth, does have a good amount of hitting power through the pins. This ball will be good on heavy oil or for low rev players IMO. 🙂

It had been awhile since I have thrown a Columbia 300 ball, but for some reason I was attracted to the Speed. I put my favorite pin up layout on the ball to compare it to some other strong assyms in my arsenal. It didn’t take long to realize this ball had a very strong roll to it. It was 2-3 boards stronger than my Evo Solid. I liked the motion of it. For a strong engine, it didn’t hook at my feet. I was able to play the heavy oil line at a recent event and it still went through the pins strong. Columbia 300 fans will like the new Speed. Especially, when the lanes play tight.
