Radical Squatch Hybrid Bowling Ball Features:

The Squatch Hybrid is the third ball in the Squatch series. It features the same symmetrical core design as both the original Squatch and the Squatch Solid, along with the Ai-39 Hybrid coverstock. This three-colored ball comes out of the box after being finished with 500 SiaAir, Crown Factory Compound, and Crown Factory Polish. This finish helps the Squatch Hybrid clear the front of the lane even more easily than the original Squatch.

The Squatch Hybrid adds a new motion to the Squatch line up, more hook than the original Squatch, and more flip than the Squatch Solid. The Squatch Hybrid features the very aggressive Ai-39 Solid coverstock combined with the original Ai-39 Pearl. This cover combination places the Squatch Hybrid motion right between the original and the solid. The Squatch Hybrid also features incredible DynamiCore technology. The super-popular Squatch core, DynamiCore technology, Ai-39 Hybrid coverstock, and the sexy color combination makes this all-time “Hide and go seek champion of the world” a must-have for every league or tournament bag.

This ball is great! If you liked the original Squatch, you will love this one. It is very similar in motion but hooks a little earlier in my opinion. It is overall a cleaner reaction than the original. Overall hook I give it about the same to a little more than the original. This ball is a great compliment to the other 2 Squatches.

This new addition to the Squatch line is very impressive for its traction as well as the fair amount of length the ball gives. Falls right between the solid and pearl releases of the Squatch. I used this ball with polish surface and the ball gets down lane but still has the energy to hook around the range finders with the layout that I used. It is a great performance piece that I can see using in tournaments. On house shots you may want to make sure you have a good fair amount of carry down because this ball is superior to the original and only a handful of boards longer than the solid.

    Radical Squatch Hybrid review

The Radical Squatch Hybrid is the latest in the already legendary Squatch lineup of equipment. The Squatch Hybrid features the very aggressive Ai-39 solid coverstock combined with the original Ai-39 pearl. This cover combination places the Squatch Hybrid motion right in between the original and the solid. A must-have for every bowling bag, and it also features DynamiCore technology, for more hitting power at the pins and increased durability. I chose the layout I did to get the ball to go further down the lane and transition quicker with the longer pin (4.75”) and lower VAL angle (20 degrees). It fits perfectly between the Squatch Solid and original Squatch in my tournament and league bag. I have used it on a couple of different oil patterns and here is my assessment:

42 ft. THS (typical house shot): The Squatch Hybrid absolutely murders a typical house shot. It responds to friction quickly and makes a very defined move to the pocket. I took mine from box finish, down to 500 and back up to 2000 polished, and it responds to all of those very well. If you are seeing too much early hook, take the cover up to 4000, too much length, just sand it to 1000 or even 500, it takes to those changes extremely well! Do not be afraid to adjust the surface to your game, this ball can handle it! I like how it can handle a decent volume of oil inside, not quite as much as the Squatch Solid at the same surface, but more than the original Squatch. This allows me to throw it longer and make smaller moves on the approach as the lanes break down.

39 ft. Don Carter pattern: I have shot a few sets on this pattern and the Squatch Hybrid was a very good option for games two and three on the pattern for me. This pattern has been modified to have slightly less volume in the middle, so projection and speed control are key, and the Squatch Hybrid at box finish was the perfect matchup as they broke down a little. It rolled forward later on the lane and hit heavy through the pins, carrying the off pocket and half pocket hits extremely well. As the night progressed, I was able to move further inside and roll the ball off my hand, and it saw the friction later, making my moves easier and more trustworthy, resulting in higher scores and more confidence in the ball.

If you are looking for that in-between reaction for your “go to” symmetrical ball, less early hook than the big solids but less length than the polished pearls, look no further than the Squatch Hybrid. This will be the first symmetrical ball out of my bag on most patterns. Available now from Moore’s Pro Shop, and pro shops everywhere! Radical has done it again with the Squatch line. This ball for me fits right in-between the solid and the peal with a slightly more length than the solid and and a little earlier than the pearl. The strong mid lane and the hybrid cover helps you fight off the over/under conditions. You can use this on the fresh THS or in game 3 of your league it’s clean enough without sacrificing the hook and hitting power at the pins. As I bowl more with this on different patterns you start to see just how good this ball is. For a mid price point ball this is a lot of ball with a lot of versatility. Well worth the investment!
