Radical The Closer Pearl Bowling Ball Features:
The Closer Pearl is the second ball in the Closer series from Radical. This ball shares the same symmetrical core shape with The Closer, which is a higher RG and lower differential design compared to the weight block from the Squatch series. The Closer Pearl features the pearlized Ai-39 coverstock that was used on the original Squatch, finished at 500/1000 SiaAir with Crown Factory Compound. The components of The Closer Pearl allow it to easily get through the fronts, but without going too straight overall.
The Close Pearl adds a new motion to The Closer line. The Closer Pearl uses the Ai-39 cover featured in the Squatch line. The addition of this pearl cover gives The Closer Pearl more length and a more pronounced backend motion making it a great compliment to the original benchmark Closer. The use of the popular DynamiCore adds to the exceptional hitting power and carry of The Closer Pearl. The Closer Pearl’s shelf appeal is a plus as well with the attractive blue, white, and silver pearl cover to go along with this excellent performance. Just think about all these features and all at our Reliable price point.

This ball was very surprising! Looks amazing going down lane. Drilled mine 65x5x35.. it started up a little earlier than I expected but still continued and didn’t over hook. When it got to the pocket it hit hard with amazing continuation.

Radical The Closer Pearl Review
Stats: Speed – 17.0; RPM – 335; AT – 20; AR – 65
Layout: 4.25” x 25 (no x-hole)
The Radical The Closer Pearl is the latest in the already legendary Closer lineup of equipment. The Closer Pearl features the very aggressive, but versatile, Ai-39 pearl cover. This cover / core combination places The Closer Pearl motion a few feet longer than the original The Closer Solid, with a much sharper break down lane. A must-have for every bowling bag, and it also features DynamiCore technology, for more hitting power at the pins and increased durability. I chose the layout I did to get the ball to go further down the lane and transition quicker with the longer pin (4.25”) than my The Closer Solid (3.75”) and the same low VAL angle (25 degrees). It perfectly complements The Closer Solid in my tournament and league bag. I have used it on a couple of different oil patterns and here is my assessment:
42 ft. THS (typical house shot): The Closer Pearl absolutely murders a typical house shot. It responds to friction quickly and makes a very defined move to the pocket. I took mine from box finish, down to 500 and back up to 2000 polished, and it responds to all of those very well. My favorite surface is 4000, no polish. If you are seeing too much early hook, take the cover up to 4000, too much length, just sand it to 1000 or even 500, it takes to those changes extremely well! Do not be afraid to adjust the surface to your game, this ball can handle it! I like how it can handle a decent volume of oil inside, not quite as much as The Closer Solid at the same surface, but more than something like a Counter Attack Pearl, for example. This allows me to throw it longer and make smaller moves on the approach as the lanes break down.
39 ft. Don Carter pattern: I have shot a few sets on this pattern and The Closer Pearl was a very good option for games two and three on this pattern for me in league, and in games 4, 5, and 6 in a longer format tournament. This pattern has been modified to have slightly less volume in the middle, so projection and speed control are key, and The Closer Pearl at box finish was the perfect matchup as they broke down a little. It rolled forward later on the lane and hit heavy through the pins, carrying the off pocket and half pocket hits extremely well. As the night progressed, I was able to move further inside and roll the ball off my hand, and it saw the friction later, making my moves easier and more trustworthy, resulting in higher scores and more confidence in the ball. It shines through the friction and gives you that perfect head turning “skid-flip” look that bowlers love to see through the pins!
If you are looking for that in-between reaction for your “go to” symmetrical ball, less early hook than the big solids but less length than the weaker cored polished pearls, look no further than The Closer Pearl. This will be the first symmetrical ball out of my bag on most patterns. Available now from Moore’s Pro Shop, and pro shops everywhere! Drilled up the Closer Pearl, I went with a control layout of 90, 2 1/4”, 45. I was looking for something to complement my short pinned Counter Attack, this is exactly what I was looking for. This should be a great option when I am looking to control the back ends. I think this one is the closest to the OG Ridiculous in my opinion

I found the Closer Pearl gets down the lane with ease and gives you a strong motion at the break point. With the DynamiCore Technology, it has exceptional hitting power.
Best use will be on your medium oil patterns or when you encounter transition. On your heavier oil patterns, keep your angles tight or try a little surface adjustment.

This is a must in anyone’s bag. Was able to take this one for a test drive at a Demo.Had to order one right away. The predictability and the way that this ball went through the pin deck was uncanny. Definitely going to be one of the first balls to come out in league. I see this a big bonus when the fronts start to diminish. Cannot wait to punch mine up 🙂 .

Closer Pearl
I’m a left handed bowler. My ball speed is around 14.5 mph. My Rev rate is around 280 rpms. A couple months ago I was able to drill this ball up. And I was able to use it for about a week or so. The layout I used is 3 3/4 x 30. With the pearl cover this ball is clean thru the fronts and with this layout it has a big backend hook. So far I have only used it on a house shot. And seems to be a great ball for that. I believe this is a great purchase for any type of bowler. And also it’s a great looking ball.

The Closer Pearl is a Strong Symetrical Ball that eases through the midlanes while reving up to a strong backend motion.
I drilled mine 4 x 40 degrees making it very continuous through the pins. I can miss in and it still carries because of the the strong core and miss out and it recovers well. The blue and white pearl cover makes it marble like and the look as it revs up is great!
This is my first symmetric piece out of my bag and you should consider adding one to yours.
