Storm Fast Pitch Bowling Ball Features:
The Fast Pitch is the latest urethane offering in Storm’s Thunder line. This ball uses the new Controll XL Urethane coverstock, which is a different formulation from the previous urethane covers in the Storm family. The symmetrical Tour Block core design, which was used previously in the Fever Pitch, gives the Fast Pitch an RG of 2.61″ and a differential of 0.030″. This core shape is higher in both RG and differential compared to the Capacitor core from the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple. One thing we consistently see with urethane shells is that they tend to hook the most on their very first shot, before there is oil on the surface of the ball. Since urethane covers don’t absorb oil, the oil that sits on the surface between the ball and the lane cuts down the overall hook of subsequent deliveries. To minimize this effect a shammy should be used in between shots to remove as much oil as possible from the covers.

The perfect position of the RG, the proper amount of differential, symmetric vs asymmetric – these all play a vital role in the motion in this type of ball. Dialing in the precise measure of each was no easy feat, but we were up to the challenge. Urethane balls are meant to bring back the breakpoint to control shorter patterns. But when the RG is too low, the end result is simply too much of a good thing. The higher RG, medium differential Tour Block weight block keeps the Fast Pitch
reading the lane exactly where its needed.
Controll XL is making its debut on the Fast Pitch, bringing the performance characteristics between the Pitch Black and the Pitch Purple. The Pitch Black reigns supreme as the hook/set type of reaction with the Pitch Purple being the cleaner and more angular option. The Fast Pitch blends the line between early read and entry angle making it the most versatile Pitch series ball to date.
