Hammer Dark Web Hybrid Bowling Ball Features:
The Dark Web has been a great benchmark type of motion for Hammer fans, and Hammer is excited to introduce the new Dark Web Hybrid featuring HK22. HK22 has become the hottest new cover technology in bowling, producing incredible reaction shape where bowlers want to see it most. The Dark Web Hybrid has the same modified Spheroid core with a dense flip block that helped make the Dark Web Solid so popular. The familiar core and addition of HK22 finished with 2000 Siaair will give Hammer fans a stronger mid-lane and backend motion.

The dark web released last summer was a great benchmark symmetrical ball in the hammer line. This hybrid version pairs well as an easy step down from the dark web when the lanes transition or you want to close your angles. The addition of hk22 allows the ball to consistently pick up in the mid lane while maintaining momentum once it makes the turn. Here are a few shots with it on the house shot at Suburban Lanes. I can see this ball really excelling on flatter conditions when you need something controllable to blend the lane.

To start off, I really liked the Hammer Dark Web. But in my area, I needed more volume for it to be effective for a longer period of time. Yes I could adjust the surface, but that would put it close to other balls I have so it’s in my tournament bag. The Dark Web Hybrid with the HK22 base is the same Aggression Hybrid additive package as the Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid and has a slightly different box surface. I was able to stay direct or move in more and use a variety of hand positions to get the desired motion that went through the pins well. This went from up the back for control to more axis rotation and tilt to open up the angles and create a more angular shape off the friction.
This would be a step down from balls that stand up at the end of the pattern either due to the fresh cleaning or the pattern going into transition and the friction getting bigger. League bowlers who have had trouble with their equipment being too strong will like the Dark Web Hybrid. Surface adjustments can be made easily to fine turn the reaction. With the HK22, I had more forgiveness on shots in early and away late. Traction in the volume was good and the response to friction created entry angle.
This is a great choice for a go to or lane reading ball, so put your favorite symmetrical layout on it. Ask about it today at your favorite retailer. Don’t forget to check out the videos on the Hammer website.

The new Hammer Dark Web Hybrid looks to be an excellent choice for a benchmark type of ball. It picks ups the mid lane nicely without grabbing too hard and has plenty of shape going through the pins. It is smooth and controllable. Where this ball separates itself from others in the “benchmark” category, in my opinion, is you are able to stay in this ball longer. When the transition forces you left, benchmark balls tend to lose energy a little early and you start leaving pesky corner pins. The DWH has a little thing called HK22 built into the cover stock, which I believe allows the ball to keep more energy and hitting power. Let’s call this one a Benchmark Plus.

The Dark Web Hybrid is part of one of the best Benchmark Symmetrical lines out there!!! I love the continuation and confidence of the pattern the ball has! it definitely keeps up with the slogan!!!

This ball is really good. I use it as my benchmark ball.
I get a really good read off this ball as a first out of the bag. It’s very smooth and because it’s a hybrid you’re not gonna get that early hook out of it and it’s not gonna burn up on the backend. Plus, it also has HK 22 on the cover, which makes it even better performance wise.

Like the original Dark Web, this ball is very forgiving and continuous in the move it makes. The aggression reactive hybrid cover, along with the HK22 cover helps push further than the original Dark Web to give you more energy on the back of the lane when you move in, for more hitting power. With an RG of 2.514 and Diff of .048 this ball will give you mid-lane motion with flare. Shots pulled in the oil still recover to get the corners out and shots sent out have enough motion to get back and carry. I prefer the core of the Web series, as it is very consistent when you don’t pure every shot. The ball is very forgiving on shots missed at the bottom of the swing and doesn’t violently jump if you squeeze the shot, which I thought might happen more with the HK22 cover. This is another great release by Hammer.
