Motiv Primal Shock Bowling Ball Features:
The most sought after crossover in MOTIV history is here with the introduction of the Primal Shock! Combining two of MOTIV’s greatest releases, the Primal Rage and Venom Shock, the Primal Shock takes the best of both balls to create something truly special. Turmoil MFS cover technology from the Venom Shock and the Impulse V2 core from the Primal Rage combine to provide strong mid-lane traction with plenty of angle down lane. The Primal Shock dominates medium to heavy oil conditions, offering a vast array of options to attack the lanes. This is a can’t miss combination that bowlers have been asking for since 2013!
Turmoil MFS technology has been a benchmark for MOTIV, providing moderate mid-lane traction with plenty of down lane motion. Featured in the longest running MOTIV ball of all time, the Venom Shock, this cover perfectly balances control and aggression. This is the pinnacle of benchmark ball motion.
The Primal Shock takes the ultimate benchmark ball motion found in the Venom Shock and amps up performance by pairing it with the strong Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. This core creates incredibly strong down-lane motion and marks a significant upgrade in overall core strength from the Gear core found in the Venom Shock. When paired with the Turmoil MFS cover, the result is a medium-heavy and moderately angular monster that is a must have in every bag.
When to Use:
Speed Dominant Bowlers – Many speed dominant bowlers are unable to use balls with differentials as low as the Venom Shock. A more dynamic core allows these bowlers to use the same cover stock, but with a motion that suits them. The Primal Shock will be a moderately angular complement to a speed dominant bowler’s benchmark ball. This will be an outstanding first transition ball for bowlers with excessive speed or lower rev rates.
Balanced Bowlers – The Venom Shock is a balanced bowler’s dream. It’s been the benchmark ball for those bowlers for years now and will continue to be. Over the years, many balanced bowlers have said that they’d like a more angular Venom Shock and one that could create more down lane motion. The Primal Shock is that ball.
Rev Dominant Bowlers –Â The highest rev rate and lowest speed bowlers will use the Primal Shock on fresh oil and high volume patterns when they need to create some angle. Before the rev dominant players can get all the way into the angular pearls, a Primal Shock will allow for easy mid-lane read and moderate angle to start opening up their angles on transitioning lanes.

Primal Shock is a match made in bowling heaven. You have GOAT cover stock (Turmoil MFS) from Venom Shock and one of my favorite cores the Impulse V2 from the Primal Rage. The Primal Shock is sharper down lane than the Venom, but it can handle more oil than the Primal Rage. Primal Shock still reads the mid-lane, but pushes through it to turn the corner at the end of the pattern. The Primal Shock is a stronger benchmark ball to see what the backend of the lane is doing. Primal Shock is a definite winner!!

WOW WOW WOW. The beloved Venom Shock has met its match… or should I say its counterpart. I can see the Venom Shock and Primal Shock being the perfect 1-2 combination. If you don’t have this ball in your bag, you’re certainly missing out.
Michael J. Puzo –
You have one of the greatest coverstocks (Turmoil MFS) combined with an older but still great core (Impulse v2), which was enough to sell me on the ball. The Primal Shock is a must have if you need something that can read the mid-lane but get through it to get a sharp turn at the backend. Get yourself one of these.

The Primal Shock is the newest ball in our line and fits in the Medium-Heavy oil controllable category. Bowlers will find this ball to be strong in the mid lane and also strong down lane. I’ve found the Primal Shock most useable when the lane is fresh and as they transition it’s a great versatile piece to cover all of your wants and needs.
The Primal Shock has the Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. The Impulse V2 core gives the Primal Shock a strong down lane motion for Medium-Heavy volumes of oil.
The Primal Shock has the Turmoil MFS reactive cover, providing a controllable mid lane motion without losing down lane motion. The Primal Shock is perfect combination of two of Motiv’s most popular balls of all time, the Venom Shock and the Primal Rage.

I’ve been a huge fan of the High Impulse core from the Supra Enzo and Original Supra since they came out, and I never had the chance to throw any pieces from the Primal line before they were discontinued. So when this one was announced, I was extremely excited. I was not disappointed in any way. The Primal Shock is the perfect step up from a Venom Shock with some extra pop downlane. The higher differential and higher RG combined with the super versatile Turmoil MFS cover creates possibly the most versatile ball we have released since the Venom Shock or Jackal Ghost. This one will be in the line for a very long time and fits any style of bowler.

Eric George –
I have thrown the Primal Shock for about a month now and have drilled it two different ways a 4” pin and a 5” pin. Out of the box I feel like the Cover/Core combo were fighting each other. I personally had to take the ball down to 360 then work my way back up to 1000, and then I started liking the ball reaction. At 1000 the primal gives me early predicable read with consistent forward roll when it makes its move. This one struggles on the house pattern but excels on flatter patterns before I need to Open up the lane. For me not an everyday ball but, a useful ball to have in my tournament bag.
