Brunswick Igniter Solid Bowling Ball Features:

The first additions to the line-up for Brunswick replace the Edge nameplate that has been so popular the past few years, the new balls are called Igniter. Sticking with tradition, this is a dual-launch with an Igniter Solid and Igniter Pearl, and both balls utilize the same core used in the Jagged Edge as well as an enhanced version of the successful Relativity coverstock. The Igniter Solid and Igniter Pearl look fantastic, are an unbelievable value, and offer incredible performance.

The Igniter Solid uses the same core as the Jagged Edge line and an updated and stronger Relativity cover that has been a proven winner for Brunswick. Igniter Solid provides a lot of hook without breaking the bank.

    PAP 5 over 1/8 Up

Drilled 5×80, which is a pin down on the center line of the ball (the bridge) about 1.5 inches down from the grips.

I replaced the Jagged Edge Solid with this ball, it’s the same balls.

Out of the box this ball has a stronger cover but I went up to 4000 then hit by hand with 2000 on both balls getting the exact same results, the layouts are the same also.

For my application, great benchmark roll as a transition ball on lighter volume oil or broken down higher volume.

Very controlling smooth roll with great continuation.

If you really like the Jagged Edge no matter the surface or layout get this ball, same ball with a stronger surface out of the box. Igniter 500/2000 Siaair, Jagged Edge 500/3000 Siaair.

These balls have been among my favorites and most used on house shots, leagues and tournaments with lower volume oil or broken down higher volume.

I can control the lanes greatly with this ball without losing the pocket much.

I also recently drilled this Igniter Solid. I was looking for a replacement for the Jagged Edge Hybrid. I was afraid that the pearl version would be a little too clean and angular kinda like what I had at times with the Jagged Edge. I got exactly what I was looking for with this ball. The shape is perfect, and I dont feel like it gets too far down the lane. However it hooks more than I gave it credit for. It surprised me, I am at least 5 deeper on the lane than I thought I would be. I know alot of people don’t give credit to the lower line balls, but don’t be like those people. There is alot of value in those balls. You can get great reaction on a budget! Can’t go wrong with that!!

No-thumb, one league per week, tournaments when I can. Tremendous slouch.

Best value for solid and pearl.

The first additions to the line-up for Brunswick replace the Edge nameplate that has been so popular the past few years, the new balls are called Igniter. Sticking with tradition, this was last summers dual-launch with the Igniter Solid and the Igniter Pearl, and both balls utilize the same core, Brink Symmetric, used in the Jagged Edge in addition to an enhanced version of the successful Relativity coverstock, Relativity Solid 3.0. The Igniter Solid and Igniter Pearl look fantastic, are an unbelievable value, and offer incredible performance.

With it’s out of box surface of 500/2000 and core/cover combination, paired with my all purpose layout of 55x4x25, the Igniter Solid is a great option for a symmetric benchmark ball. The Igniter Solid provides a predictable motion that for me was a lot stronger than I was expecting …able to clear the heads with a good read in the mid lane and still have power as it drives though the pins. During league I’m able to stand a little more to the right and I can play more up the boards or I can go the other way, get deeper inside with my feet and targets, and send it to the dry and let the core and cover pick up as it gets to the dry for a nice sweeping arc motion. I have adjusted the surface a couple of times by adding polish to get some added length before it starts to pick up in the mid lane and the motion was exactly as desired. Not only that, but I was easily able to bring the Igniter Solid back to out of box surface and have that same, original ball motion.

Brunswick isn’t known for having their bowling balls look flashy but the Igniter Solid is probably as flashy as it gets with the Lime Green / Grey. It’ll get looks, in a good way, as it’s rolling down the lane and crushing the pins and when it’s sitting on the rack or in your bag.

Rated by Brunswick Bowling in the Advanced / All Purpose category with a rating of 73, I found the Igniter Solid to be far stronger than what I was expecting from it especially for it’s mid level price, making it one of the best performance value per dollar in the last year.

Be well, rip racks …and shred pins.
