Storm HyRoad Max Bowling Ball Features:

The Hy Road Max is the newest addition to the famed Hy-Road series in Storm’s Thunder line. It features the same Inverted Fe2 symmetrical core as the previous Hy-Road balls, and it is wrapped in the NeX Solid Reactive coverstock. This veneer made previous appearances on the Proton PhysiX in the Premier line and on the Axiom in the Master line. The box finish on this bright green and lime cover is 3000 Abralon. The Hy-Road Max produces a very smooth motion on fresh oil patterns.

The Inverted Fe2 weight block has historically had a higher RG orientation. The higher the RG, the more resistant the ball will be to changing direction as it travels down the lane. NeX first made its debut on the Axiom, the newest touchstone from which all other balls are compared. The finishing touches clock in at 3000-grit Abralon, which has become the benchmark standard of surface profiles. As you can see, there’s more to every ball than meets the eye.

Inverted Fe2 technology boasts a higher RG and differential like most other balls in the Thunder Line, but with one very important benefit: it lacks the core material that most other balls have. This enables the ball to have a much thicker shell which raises the coefficient of restitution. A higher energy transfer to the pins with less deflection upon impact is what can be expected with this design.

NRG has become a staple in Storm’s lineup of coverstocks for nearly a decade. It’s due time for an upgrade! NeX (Nano Extreme) is Storm’s earliest reading cover to date. NeX Solid was remarkably earlier hooking than NRG on any pattern, or any surface we tested it on. Our standardized durability and longevity tests showed NeX created 11% more entry angle and 9.6% more overall hook after 50 shots compared to a fresh NRG cover. Simply put, NeX gives more midlane read than ever WITHOUT sacrificing any backend!

I personally never matched up well with the hyroad line , the hyroad max is a really different kind of motion from the other hyroads . The hyroad max is a super early read on the lane with a very smooth transition down lane definitely a great ball for tougher tournament patterns and when house shot leagues start breaking down.

For someone who was looking for a medium potential smoother ball down lane, I can simply I am quite pleased with the ball. While personally I feel I have to be a bit more precise where I throw the ball, as long as I hit that mark, the pins fall. Ball motions resembles a pro motion in shape. Ball motion isn’t as angular so if you happen to go Brooklyn you have a good shot at still getting all ten to fall. For me, it has bench mark potential and I would recommend this ball to anyone who wants a smooth and controllable ball
