Columbia 300 Authority Bowling Ball Features:
The pro-performance release for Columbia 300 is the Authority and commands some attention. The Authority is an eye-catching shiny pearl ball featuring an updated version of the ERT cover made popular on the recent Baller release with additives that help produce more down-lane response. The Authority utilizes a brand-new asymmetric core shape that enables the Authority to change directions harder when it encounters friction.

The brand new Authority is the first asymmetrical ball made by Columbia since being under Brunswick. This ball features the DOT technology, and allows you to have unlimited drilling’s. I sanded mine down to a light 3000 to break the shine and blend out the motion. Drilled the pin below the bridge of my fingers for quicker and more roll type of ball reaction. It is a great piece to have, great for medium to heavy oil conditions.

I had no idea in all honesty what to expect from this new release from Columbia. Threw my fav layout on it, 50 X 4.25 x 30 and it came alive. It’s been compared to the baller, but I wasn’t able to throw that line of balls up until now. Whew! Averaging 239 over 18 games, 4 different houses, 4 separate lane types, all with different patterns and consistency of motion and carry hasn’t stopped. Definitely a must have !

The Authority utilizes a brand-new asymmetric core shape that enables the Authority to change directions harder when it encounters friction and boy does it ever. The C300 Authority has provided me with strong and more continuous down-lane response.
My initial review on the house conditions in one word was “awesome”. The ball was very strong and continuous as expected and carry was tremendous. I then used the Authority on a couple different Challenge Patterns and quickly became impressed with shape I was seeing. I then became curious to see the shape and motion with some surface on the ball so I touched the surface with 3000 pad to break the finish. I saw more read in the mid lane and still had the same strong and continuous down lane response. If you are looking for a strong asymmetrical pearl with versatility the Authority is for you. All new C300 Authority is strong and continuous. My pin up asymmetrical Authority is clean thru the fronts, quick off the spot and really drives thru the pins. Its great for longer patterns, very versatile when the pattern breaks down you don’t have to change balls just keep moving left and let the Authority go to work. A must have in your bag.

The Columbia 300 Authority is the first of two Columbia releases under the Brunswick family. I will tell you I was unsure what to expect but I am very pleased with this ball. The Authority gives me the control and length I have come to expect with C300 products with a very strong back end ball motion. I used a 70x4x30 layout to tame the back end just slightly and love the combination of control and power that the Authority gives me.

The Authority is an asymmetrical, pearl with a 500/1000 factory compound finish.
Out of the box, I found the Authority to be too clean, too long on the fresh. I then took a pad and knocked the shine off of it. It was a totally different ball. Still clean up front, but picked up much sooner and continuous.
Great eye appeal, too!

After a few shots I got to test with the Columbia 300 Authority, I was shocked with the reaction and shape the coverstock and core showed me on the lanes. It is almost hard to believe that a pearl coverstock can make this ball motion on fresh lane conditions that would be considered for oil breakdown or wet/dry only, but not this ball. The coverstock also obviously can work on light oil lane conditions too, but dry conditions can be a bit tricky. I really love using this ball and will be added as a very favorable ball for my arsenal roster. I can foresee the new and improved Columbia 300 making a BIG statement with the first releases made, and this ball has started the movement. Layout used on this ball is 65 x 3.75 x 20, in which gives me a great angular/continuous ball motion that favors my rev-dominant game.

The Columbia 300 Authority (Pearl) is a great ball to use on medium to heavy oil. I tried to use the ball on lighter oil conditions, but the strong cover makes the ball read too early and burn up too much energy in the midlane. This will definitely be a good tournament ball where heavier oil conditions are used. Maybe add some light surface on heavier conditions to help the ball read the midlane because once it sees friction, this ball wants to move. I drilled my ball 45 x 5 x 45
