Radical Zing Hybrid Bowling Ball Features:

The Zing Hybrid uses the same Forged 2 Hybrid coverstock as the Conspiracy Hybrid and the same asymmetrical weight block as the original Zing. Finished at 500/1000 SiaAir with Crown Factory Compound, the Zing Hybrid provides more length and more back end reaction than the Conspiracy Hybrid.

The Zing! Hybrid features the same core as the very successful Zing! The Forged 2 Hybrid is a new cover formulation combining the Forged 2 Solid with the Forged 2 Pearl. The Forged 2 Hybrid cover wrapped around the very dynamic Zing! core gives the Zing! Hybrid a bit more length and even more backend recovery, combining this strong match up with the hard-hitting DynamiCore, and you have a great addition to the original Zing! The Zing! core was designed to get ahead of the USBC no balance hole rule and has proven to be a success allowing shops to get the same dynamic motion the customer desired without the use of a balance hole. The Zing! Hybrid is just another example of why Radical has become the technical leader.

    Drilled this up just like my zing solid which is absolutely my favorite ball and this hybrid did exactly what I expected. Cleaner through the fronts and sharper off the friction with great continuation all the way through the pins. A great 1-2 combo that will always be in my bag

  2. Cody

    This ball is a great compliment to the original Zing. It is sharper off the spot and cleaner than the original. I will be using this ball alot.

    Radical Zing! Hybrid review

    The Radical Zing! Hybrid is the latest in the Zing! Line. It features a new cover formulation combining the Forged 2 solid with the Forged 2 pearl. Zing! Hybrid has a bit more length and even more backend recovery, combining this strong match up with the hard hitting DynamiCore and you have a great addition to the original Zing! I chose the layout I did to get the ball to roll forward sooner, and transition quicker. I have used it on a couple of different patterns and here is my assessment:

    42 ft. THS (typical house shot): The Zing! Hybrid has been a very strong ball for the house shot in two centers I frequent. What I love about this ball is that it chews through the oil, makes a defined move off the spot, but is still predictable enough to control from shot to shot. The one thing to avoid with the Zing! Hybrid is to get it into the friction too early, as this strong asymmetrical ball will roar from out there and won’t quit, and you could be looking at trouble. But, that aside, this ball is awesome. Very versatile to cover changes, I took mine form box finish, down to 1000 and back up to 3000 polished, and it responds to all of those very well. If you are seeing too much early hook, take the cover up to 4000, too much length, just sand it to 1000 or even 500, it takes to those changes extremely well! Do not be afraid to adjust the surface to your game, this ball can handle it!

    39 ft. Don Carter pattern: I just rolled on this pattern last night and the Zing! Hybrid was the best ball in my bag by a wide margin. This pattern has been modified to have slightly less volume in the middle, so projection and speed control are key, and the Zing! Hybrid at 3000 was the perfect matchup. It rolled forward perfectly and hit heavy through the pins, carrying the off pocket hits extremely well. As the night progressed, I was able to move further inside and roll the ball off my hand, and it saw the friction consistently, making my moves easier and more trustworthy, resulting in higher scores and more confidence in the ball.

    If you are looking for that in-between reaction from a high end asymmetrical ball, less early hook than the big solids but less length than the high end pearls, look no further than the Zing! Hybrid. Available now from pro shops everywhere! Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and join the radical revolution today!

    Zing Hybrid

    I am a left hand bowler. My bowl speed is around 14.5 mph. My Rev rate is around 280 rpms. I just recently drilled up a Zing Hybrid. The layout is 40 x 4 1/2 x 70. This is a pin below the fingers. I pick this layout for the new Usbc rule. No oil required on the outside portion of a lane. With this kind of oil pattern. I see wet/ dry condition.
    This balls cover gives me length and continuation. With layout I’m controlling the backend motion a little. I have also have used it on Usbc Open championship pattern. And it works pretty good on that also. This a ball that will be in my bag for Usbc national championship and league bowling.

    I have about 410 revs, throw it about 16.5 mph, and have a high tilt. I drilled this ball and put my first practice on it the same time as my Hammer Redemption Solid. I was on a burned out house shot and was playing between 18 and 25 as the shot continued to break down. I was surprised how strong this ball actually is. It was only 2-3 boards weaker than the Redemption and just as much if not more hitting power. It clears the mid lane pretty well (probably due to the factory compound finish) then gets up and goes and hits hard. I’ve only drilled a few Radical balls so far but I like them all. Another keeper. 🙂

    Before COVID-19 I punched up a Zing Hybrid for my house shot league. I needed a ball for wet/dry and medium oil volume. So either Hybrid cover it allows my ball to get down the lane and with my layout choice it allows me smooth out the wet /dry. The layout I used is 40 x 4 1/2 x 70. It is a pin down layout. I must say it was a great choice for me.

    60 x 4 x 20 – PAP 4 ½ -> and ½^ – Speed – 15mph – Rev Rate 380
    This is always a go to ball for me on any condition I encounter. The ball is very clean and has great recovery on the backend. The layout gives me that skid flip reaction and to add this ball has a smoother transition once the flip occurs.
